The EUROLogin2020 consortium is a transnational partnership between France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain.
The objective pursued by each EDI provider is to connect their own platform to the corresponding national eIDAS node, thus facilitating the authentication of users from any Member State and enhancing the electronic services provided to European citizens.
EUROLogin2020 aims to integrate the electronic Identification Digital Service Infrastructure (eID DSI), to facilitate access to the services provided by 3 European Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Providers:
- Nubilaria Srl (Italy)
- HeadON (the Netherlands)
- Generix Group (France)
promoting an eIDAS-based ecosystem across Europe.
Objectives
The three EDI Providers will be able to request, receive and process the new set of identification data received from the eIDAS interoperability nodes and ensure the eIDAS Regulation requirements.
This action will promote the uptake and use of the eID DSI and will facilitate secure access to the provided services by the three EDI providers to all EU citizens and businesses using their national eID, ensuring cross-border mobility and support for the Digital Single Market.
Activities
Project management: The main objective of this activity is to ensure the project’s efficient implementation in line with the grant agreement.
Communication: The main objective of the activity is to promote the Action’s results. During the Action, the beneficiaries’ dissemination performance will be monitored and assessed.
Analysis and design: This activity will include the test for the implementation of the eID modules of the cloud platforms and eID solutions according to the technical specifications and requirements defined by Italian, Dutch, and French eIDAS nodes.
Connection: This activity aims at connecting 4 EDI Providers to the respective eIDAS nodes to allow for cross-border authentication. The implementation will allow the cross-border authentication of European citizens by processing the new set of data received from the eIDAS node. At the end of the Action, all services will be available in the production environment and the cross-border authentication will be available for all countries whose eID schemes have been formally notified to the European Commission. All e-services will be maintained by the beneficiaries after the end of the Action and available for their clients.
Final testing and Go-Live: The tests will focus on the implementations, ensuring interoperability and promoting collaboration between all beneficiaries of this Action, as well as implicating the eIDAS nodes.
Nubilaria’s mission
- We completed the technical procedure and we officially validated the Italian network SPID/eIDAS.
- We received the official production Certificate.
- We connected the eIDAS Italian node. Now the users and the patients can certify themselves through the Italian network SPID using our ACTide platform.
- We integrated the Italian eIDAS node in our ACTide eClinical application. Testing is going on with the other partners in the project.
The positive aspects
The positive aspects of the Action and the benefits that people can have if this technology was applied are multiple, in detail:
- The adoption of the eIDAS login will enable patients and investigators from various EU countries to participate in European clinical trials in a safe and privacy-compliant manner.
- It will allow informed consent to be provided digitally while maintaining the certainty and security of the signer.
- It will allow European investigators to participate in clinical trials conducted using the ACTide platform with their own digital identity.
